Meet Terry, a chimpanzee from the North Carolina Zoo. She was born sometime around 1969, according to the Zoos website. She was one of the few chimps out since it was a cold day. There was a park ranger who was telling me about some of the animals and when she saw him she ran up and actually touched his hand through the glass. The Ranger said it was a gesture of his acceptance by the troop.
Did you know that Chimpanzees are as ticklish and as able to laugh as humans? Their laughter sounds different than that of a human(More like panting/breathing) but they show similar facial expressions. Many chimps and bonobos will laugh when tickled, and their ticklishness does not go away with age.
